On 21 September 2019, a motorcyclist travelling along Upper Thomson Road met with an accident when he collided
with a large sambar deer that was dashing across the same road. Mr Muhammad Aliff Mohd Jeferee (“Mr Aliff”),
who had suffered head, shoulder and leg injuries, is now seeking damages from both the Land Transport Authority
(“LTA”) and the National Parks Board (“NParks”) under a negligence law suit.
Mr Aliff’s claim against both statutory boards is on the basis that both should have been aware of the presence
of animals and the hazards posed to road users like himself, and should have taken preventative steps to
prevent these wild animals from encroaching the road.
Mr Aliff is represented by Hoh Law Corporation and his suit is currently pending.
