We welcome applications from law graduates who are enthusiastic, self-motivated and keen to take up a career in law to participate in our traineeship programmes for the 6-month relevant legal training and 12-month practice training period.
Law graduates from approved universities in Singapore will undergo 12 months of practice training period after completing Part B of the Singapore Bar Examinations.
In contrast, law graduates from recognised foreign universities are required to pass Part A of the Singapore Bar Examinations and complete the 6-month relevant legal training (“RLT”) before embarking on the Part B of the Singapore Bar Examinations. You will undergo the 12-month practice training period after you have passed the Part B of the Singapore Bar Examinations. Please see the Legal Profession (Qualified Persons) Rules for the list of recognised foreign universities.
Our training is in accordance with the Legal Profession (Admission) Rules 2024 (“2024 Rules”) and the guidelines issued by the Singapore Institute of Legal Education (“SILE”) pursuant to rule 49 of the 2024 Rules. Applicants should familiarise yourselves with the 2024 Rules and the admissions framework set out by SILE.
Successful applicants will receive supervised training in at least 2 or more of the following areas of practice during your training with us:
The honorarium payable to a practice trainee under Relevant Legal Training / Practice Training Contract at our firm will range from $1,000.00 to $2,000.00 per month.
Trainees' attendance and working hours will be recorded daily.
Trainees are required to work from Mon. – Fri. 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
Lunch hour is between 1.00 p.m. – 2.00 p.m.
Trainees may be deployed to another branch office in the course of their training for better exposure to the different aspects of law.
Trainees are not entitled to non-medical leave during training. A medical certificate issued by a registered medical practitioner must support all medical leave. This must be attached to a Leave Application Form.
